Just saw that she got cast on Joss Whedon's new show, Dollhouse, as Echo's (Eliza Dushku) best friend.
Never seen her in anything. What is she like? Huge break for her.

I adore Joss Whedon's shows and I immediately googled Dichen when I saw a Dichen was cast, suspicious as how many actresses called Dichen would there be???
But no, of course it's her. I occaisonally tuned into Neighbours and as someone else has said, she really did suck. She was in that mermaid movie too playing one of Arielle Kebbell's cronies, I think they gave her maybe three words in that bad movie. That's how bad she was.
I really don't know how the heck this is going to pan out?

Terrible actress. My faith in Joss Whedon has been diminishing (see Buffy season 8) and now I find out that he's cast one of the worst actresses I've ever seen. I pray I'm wrong and that this turns out okay.

I love Joss Wheedon so I was really really shocked to see the cast photo just now and see her in it. She really was beyond terrible in Neighbours. I have nothing against her personally and maybe she's taken acting classes since Neighbours because in that program she couldn't emote to save her life. She was literally just saying the lines in any scene she was in as if she was a stand in while they rehearsed the rest of the cast until the real actress turned up.

Nope, I still have faith in him. The casting directors, not so much. All I can say is she must have done a hell of an audition, and trained in some top-notch acting school full-time since her Neighbours part.
I remember it quite differently. The character was bad, the acting was just as bad.
