Facebook was the closest thing to such a thing other than the FBI tapping your phone. Except nobody knew it. When I was a teenager I thought it was silly and fun and enjoyed starting trivial pages and petitions. I shared a lot of personal information from 2008-2014. I had not a clue how serious it was to do such a thing of what the websites purpose was.

Now I get it. I know there are people that give off tips of doing something violent on social media and then the act can be intervened because they're able to tell who they are. But the majority of people weren't doing anything illegal or never intended to.

Facebook and Google also have access to your microphone on your computer and smartphone. Conduct a simple test by making broad statements like you want to find the love of your life or you really want to buy a new gas efficient car and see if ads appear on various websites that cross promote with both entities.

I did this a couple of years ago and it indeed produced a bunch of ads for dating and car dealerships

That’s not surprising since your audio searches are still searches.

Did you use google? I’m wondering if they access other search engines. I know they’re obviously tied into Amazon eBay YouTube.

Google's Adsense tool is basically what grabs vocal algorithms and translates them into relative searches.
