Something that has always bothered me

First, let me state the obvious: I think "King Kong" is one of the cinemas all-time classics. And one of the most influential films ever made. That being said, there is only ONE thing that bothers me about this classic.

At the end of the film, shouldn't the line be "It was beauty THAT killed the beast" NOT "It was beauty killed the beast"?! Otherwise, isn't that sort of an improper use of English?!

It was made up by the filmmaker and meant to be very old English. I believe it was written..."Twas beauty killed the beast."

"gonna throw, my raincoat in the river...gonna toss, my umbrella in the sea"...Sammy Turner.

BTW...It was beauty that killed the beast...does not sound poetic.

"gonna throw, my raincoat in the river...gonna toss, my umbrella in the sea"...Sammy Turner.

Ah, that would sort of explain it. THANK YOU!
