What did Dr. Yogami Mean?

When he said the werewolf was neither man nor beast but a satanic creature, what did he mean? was this movie making reference to the mythology/hollywood created mythology that stated that a demon inhabited the werewolf, or did he mean that the savagery of the werewolf coupled with savage acts humans are capable of made the werewolf a satanic creature, not just a hybrid of man and wolf?

It means that lycanthropy is a curse from the Devil, hence, is UNnatural. Man and beasts are natural creatures. A lycanthrope can be created by the bite of another lycanthrope, which passes the curse along; or created by dark magic. There’s a scene in The Company of Wolves where we see Satan (played by Terrance Stamp!) riding through a forest in an elegant horse-drawn carriage. He sees a peasant boy, stops the carriage, and hands the lad a compact filled with ointment. He says, “Use this very sparingly. Waste not, want not.” The boy rubs some on his chest and begins changing into a wolf.

I really hope that isn't the case as it makes no sense. It is the same thing that was done with Lon Chaney's The Wolfman and that is way I don't think it is a good movie.
