The Searchers is Far More Superior to Stagecoach

How many of you felt this way? I saw these 2 classic John Ford films back to back and I prefer 'Searchers'. I loved Stagecoach and its simple cohesive plot and its characters but I find The Searchers to have more heart, better cinematography, and better performance. Your thoughts?

You're comparing apples and oranges. Maybe not quite, but you are at least comparing apples and pears. Even though they are both westerns, they are very different. In addition, John Ford, John Wayne, and even the supporting cast had another 17 years of life, as well as movie making experience.

I don't think you can attribute a movie's quality to the life experiences of the cast. If they weren't good enough, they shouldn't have been in the picture. Each movie should stand or fall on its own merits.

I generally feel the same way. To its credit, Stagecoach has a more thrilling centerpiece action scene with the big chase at the end.
