Given his 'way' I suspect Vadas had the last laugh in 1940's Hungary


Is Vadas Jewish?
I don't think so...seems very Prussian-like.

And given the timing of this story (Hungary, 1940) I fear the scheming Vadas will have the last, dreadful, laugh on them all.

I do't know about Vadaz being Jewish, but Joseph Schildkraut who played Him was. I don't understand your second point though.

Because Hungarian Jews were about to have a very nasty time of it thanks to The Nazis.
