Two characters from 'Wonderful Life'

Did you notice that two actors in this movie were also in "It's a Wonderful Life" with Jimmy Stewart? The man who played the detective (Charles Halton) who followed the shop owner's wife also played the bank examiner in Wonderful Life, and the waiter in the cafe where Maureen Sullavan waits for her pen pal is the man who played Giuseppe the bar owner in Wonderful Life. Fun stuff!

It's fun noticing things like this i think. If you watch enough older movies you'll notice many familiar faces, especially Frank Capra movies. Like Lionel Barrymore (Mr. Potter) being the "good guy" in You Can't Take it With You (1938) several years earlier, and a very likable one at that.

Make that three!

The woman who asks Jimmy Stewart "How much is the belt in the window that says $2.98"? played the part of Mary's (Donna Reed's) mother in "It's A Wonderful Life".

"I told you a million times not to talk to me when I'm doing my lashes"!

Yes exactly, so a total of four actors, and there were 6 years and a war between the two movies.

I always thought it was funny that Elen Korby is the woman in Wonderful Life who asks for 17.50 and Jimmy kisses her, and then 13 years later she was in Vertigo as the hotelkeper.

I did notice. Just a few years later they would make the most epic Christmas movie ever.

I recognized the detective/bank examiner but not the waiter.

Yep --- later, the waiter was "Mr. Martini" in It's a Wonderful Life --- what's the grand total of actors in both movies now ??

J'ai l'oeil AMÉRICAIN !
