Brennan's Oscar
It was probably a smart move casting/nominating Walter Brennan as supporting actor, 1941 was a VERY TOUGH year, he would never had stood a chance next to Henry Fonda (who should have won), Laurence Olivier, Raymond Massey, Charlie Chaplin, and Jimmy Stewart (who did win), that's some major competition in ANY year. In all actuality Brennan was the lead actor, not Gary Cooper, smart decision though, and Walter Brennan deserved to win his third Oscar. What a tremendous acting performance by Walter Brennan!
