Blu Ray

I finally bought the Blu Ray for "St. Louis", after owning the 2004 restored DVD
since it's release. I was impressed, but not THAT impressed. While there is a
vast improvement in the sound, the picture only looks sightly sharper.

My guess is that this film has been restored so many times, that there really
wasn't much more they could improve upon. I'm not disappointed, just slightly
surprised that the difference between the DVD and Blu Ray wasn't that great.

Still worth the money, though. A truly great musical.

Thanks for the info GB. I'm watching this now and it occurred to me that this is one of the few classic musicals I don't own on bluray yet.

Along the same line, the bluray of OZ was pretty but it didn't knock me out.

I was much more impressed with the "Oz" Blu Ray, and noticed a huge difference
between this and DVD of "Oz." But not "St. Louis." Strange.
