Lacks diversity, too white

Very problematic film that wouldn't be made today and honestly should be cancelled. Or at least needs a remake to adapt it to a modern audience and give it a more diverse casting that better reflects today's demographics.

Why would you do that? To make sure no one watched it?

reply

People would go and see it. Movies with diverse casting perform well.

Not really! Upstate New York is demographically very white, therefore it's realistic.

Btw, there were plenty of white ethnics whom George supported while Mr. Potter disparaged them with his epithet and hoped to keep in his slums. There were also African-Americans who helped George in the end including Annie. Mary is a strong woman who gets everything she wants while her pathetic husband doesn't, therefore we have a strong feminist character, too.

FYI, Frank Capra made a documentary about African-American soldiers called "The Negro Soldier" who fought racists, aka: Nazis, during WWII. Unfortunately, racists are still around today.

One time I had an instructor that said he had this rule called the "One in Three Rule" that noted one out of every three people is an asshole. Well, I think this post indicates......oh, never mind, people know what I'm getting at.....

Nah the movie is perfect as it is.

Not everything needs "diversity".

I get the sarcasm and fun of this post, but if it was real I would reply with this:

There's a diversity button on every remote control, free for everyone to use, called change channel. Just watch something else.
Every one seems to over look that option.
