I just watched the 2:15 version recorded 6/26 on TMC

I didn't time it but actual run time was probably less than 2:15, What is the importance of the 1:32 version, 2:15 seems like it may be 1:32 actual time or ver close to it

I think the film is missing some of the scenes. For Example, there is an art gallery where Ethel Barrymore talks to Gregory Peck.

It was about 2 hours. Ethel Barrymore was hardly in it so the scene that a previous poster mentioned that was set in an art gallery would have been nice.

Trust me! TCM has NOT shown a two hour and fifteen minute version of "Paradine Case." They always show the 115 minute version. There is NOT any other version in circulation. As I've written elsewhere on these message boards, the 132 minute version--the only one in existence, apparently--is at the Library of Congress, and they will not let an ordinary person view it. Obviously, the copyright owner or some famous, recognized restorer will have to see it and carry on from there to get the film restored and issued on DVD. Over the years, I've heard so many people claim they saw a longer version of "Case" than the 115 minute version--even claimed there was a longer version of laser disc. It ain't so. I wish it were.

The version that is on TCM right now lists as 125minutes, not that the cable listing can be considered accurate.

reply

You're correct. The cable listing isn't accurate. If you want the accurate time of the TCM film, check their publication "Now Playing," where the film is always listed at 115 minutes and it is always shown in a 120-minute time slot.
