Hi, The only place that holds some of missing scenes of The Paradine Case is George Eastman House in New York. All of the missing scenes they have are some of the missing scenes from courtroom.
Hi! I'm back after a long absence because both of my parents died within a five month period, so there were many, many pressing things to occupy my attention. I have written to film critic and historian David Thomson and asked if he can do any help about getting "Paradine Case" restored, starting with trying to see the 132-minute version the Library of Congress says it has. I'm also writing to critic Andrew Sarris and see if he can provide me with any leads. I know you two men have been on top of the business of getting "Paradine" restored, so that's why I'm posting this here.
. . . I am so sorry to hear this (I'm stunned). . . I knew there was something amiss, you being gone for so long . . . no words I can write could ever possibly console you . . . you do have my deepest sympathy and condolences on your lose . . . remember, though, as long as you're alive---they live, and your loved ones will be with you through-out your lifetime. . . and the solace and warmth you seek will be there . . . forever . . .
. . . this movie is Hitchcock's masterpiece (it is not that other film, Vertigo---that's a secondary work) . . . every scrap of film footage should be found---he did, apparently, 3 hours of usable film . . .odd the way they handled this great work . . .
