Watched tape last night and couldn't help but notice that in some scenes Barbara's talking into a chipped phone (receiver and main piece), while in others the phone is pristine. This annoys me, as the phone is as much a "presence" in the film as any of the actors.

I just watched this for the first time in MANY years, and have to say that although it was even better than I remembered it, that chipped phone thing bothered me too. Especially when very near the end, there's a close up of the base with chips in it, yet mere minutes later after she's killed and a man picks up the receiver to deliver the titular line, the base is in perfect condition.
Continuity, folks.
