Such a gem!

Too bad, the imdb message board threats for "Impact" didn't make it to moviechat.org. But I'm hoping there will be more posts soon.

I did not discover this hidden gem (Impact) before 2013/2014 and have watched it several times since then thanks to TCM. A really well-plotted film noir.
Wonder what else I could watch? Any suggestions?

My favorite film noirs are "The Reckless Moment" (Joan Bennett, James Mason), "My Name is Julia Ross" (Nina Foch), "The Accused" (Loretta Young), "House of Numbers"/"Sudden Fear" (Jack Palance), "Born to kill"/"Step By Step" (Lawrence Tierney), "Call Northside 777" (Jimmy Stewart), the 6 Thin Man movies (Myrna Loy, William Powell), "Nightmare" (Brian Donlevy, Diana Barrymore), "Nightmare" (Edward G. Robinson, Kevin McCarthy), "Conflict"/"Dark Passage"/"The Two Mrs. Carrolls"/"High Sierra" (Bogart), "He walked by Night" (Richard Basehart) (a similar film would be "Tension" with Barry Sullivan), "The House on Telegraph Hill", "Leave Her To Heaven" (Gene Tierney), "Mr. Denning Drives North" (John Mills), "Mystery Street" (Ricardo Montalban, it was filmed outside the studios and it used forensics at a time when that was not yet common), "Out of the Past" (Mitchum), "Cape Fear" (Mitchum), "The Second Woman" (Robert Young), "Storm Fear" (Cornel Wilde), "Woman in Hiding" (Ida Lupino), "The Woman in the Window" (Edward G. Robinson), "Woman On The Run" (Ann Sheridan), "Double Indemnity" (Edward G. Robinson, Stanwyck, MacMurray), "They Won't Believe Me" (Susan Hayward), "Undercurrent", "The Uninvited" (Ray Milland), "The Unsuspected" (Claude Rains), "Five Miles To Midnight" (Sophia Loren, Anthony Perkins), "This Gun for hire" (Alan Ladd....I really wonder why TCM never has Alan Ladd as Star of the Month, he was in so many good movies...Frank Sinatra was now twice Star of the Month since May 2008 and it seems as if TCM cannot think of any "new" actors from the 1940's/1950's era).

BTW I didn't care all that much for very highly rated film noirs like "In a lonely Place" (Bogart), "Touch of Evil", "Journey Into Fear" (Joseph Cotten), "The Killers", "Kiss Of Death", "Laura", "The Locket", "The Maltese Falcon", "The Mask of Dimitrios", "The Postman always rings twice" or "The Big Sleep". Sure, I watched them more than once, but think they are not nearly as compelling.

"Casablanca" is slowly growing on me, but it's not my favorite Bogart movie.

I was particularly disappointed with Fritz Lang's "Secret Beyond The Door" (Michael Redgrave, Joan Bennett). Very artificial.
