Howard Duff made me so mad!
I guess he redeems himself by the end but Howard Duff is such an idiot for calling Ida's husband.
Even before he meets her, he make a remark to his boss about her dirty and torn dress and wonders what happened to her. Then when he gets to know her he can obviously tell she is in distress. She's nervous and scared, so what does he do? Instead of asking her about the article and what happened, he just calls her husband who is advertising for her return. Does he not think for one moment there might be a reason she is running from this man?
Infuriating.
