This movie sucks horribly
I am currently watching through every Best Picture winner. I got to this one and had heard some great things about it. I have to say the people I spoke to about this film must have seen only this movie in their life. It is BY FAR the worst best picture I have seen to date. It begins to abandon the plot about halfway through, and in the end there is a 13 1/2 minute musical/dance routine, that is at best mediocre. I was extremely disappointed with this film. Oh and the 'S Wondeful, 'S Marvelous dance number was 'Stupid. I have never seen a worse muscial than this one. The best part about the end of the movie was that after it was over I got to watch "The Greatest Show on Earth" fom 1952 a far more superior film than "An American in Paris." This movie made me look at "The Broadway Melody" (1929) in a different light. It used to be the worst best picture for me but it is at least 10 times better than "An American in Paris." The characters had no dynamic to them they were flat and predictable, the dialogue was boring and uninspired. Of the 1200+ movies that I own in my collection I must say this is by far the worst that I have ever seen. In my life I have probably watched 7000-8000 different movies since I was 5 years old, and this is still the worst.
By the time I'm 80 this will still be the worst film EVER!!
