Who painted the paintings?

In the trivia section it says a famous painter was hired to paint the pieces attributed to Mulligan, but it doesn't name this apparently famous painter. Is this accurate, and who was the painter if it was?

On that note, as an artist, I get a mean little thrill when he tells off the "third-year girl." I repeat the words to myself on occasion, as sort of a comforting mantra... "I don't want you to discuss my work. I'm not interested in your opinion of my work. If you say something nice, it won't make me feel any better, and if you don't, it'll bother me." It's one of those things he's a jerk for saying out loud but that you really enjoy hearing him say. At least, someone will think he's a jerk for saying it... someone always does in these situations.

That "third year girl" was Noel Neill, who was to shortly become very famous when she took over the role of Lois Lane from Phyllis Coates in the 1950s Superman TV series.
