my all-time favorite BP winner.

I just watched it again, as it was part of my WB 50 blu-ray collection (which I purchased for a steal).

You can have you GWTW, your Godfather, your LotR:TRotK...this is the one that does it for me. The story is trite; .but the score, the lighting, costumes, sets, cinematography, and even William Tuttle's make-up all do it for me. I never get tired of the longing gazes by Kelly and Caron, and hope every time that Nina Foch and Georges will spot each other at that party.

I watched the making of featurette. That just adds to the allure. And I haven't yet mentioned the finale. That alone is worth having a blu-ray player, and surely was what out it over the top come Oscar night.

I really love APlace in the Sun and A Streetcar Named Desire, but I truly feel Academy voters not only made the right choice, but set the bar pretty high for the top prize.

I'm not here to argue what your favourite best picture winner is, but this for me is actually one of the worst. I'm glad you stated this as your favourite rather the "the best best picture winner".
