Gene Kelly is the man. Leslie Caron is ok. This movie really has no point. The 20 minute long, dance sequence at the end is gorgeous, but what the hell? Call me simple minded, but this movie, really doesn't move me in the way I thought it would. Love Gene though.

I wouldn't call you simple minded, I would just say that next time don't go into it with as many preconceptions. You said "the way I thought it would" -- just let it be itself and do its thing. The first time I saw it I felt sort of how you do. At this point I think it's one of the greatest Hollywood films of all time.

shareMaybe now is just not the right time for you to see it, give it a few years and then go back to it. A lot of times I find that if I rewatch a movie that I wasn't that crazy about, it exceeds that expectation on the 2nd viewing.
