Continuity Errors.
For me, HIGH NOON is spoiled by some severe continuity errors, including the Marshal’s star on Gary Cooper’s waistcoat continually appearing and disappearing in the same scene while he’s sitting at his desk in his office talking to someone. Was the continuity girl asleep? Why didn’t anyone on the set, especially Cooper, notice it at the time before a take? Even so, it should have been picked up during the screening of the rushes and the scene re-shot.
