Is breaking a window good luck in Ireland?

When The Duke arrives at his cottage the first time with Maureen O'Hara hiding inside, Wayne picks up a rock, howls and throws it through a window. Is that considered a good luck tradition when moving into a new home or was it just exuberance?

Yes breaking a window before moving into a new house is the ancient Irish tradition of being severely pissed off.

I'm sorry for teasing but that's pretty much it, there's no tradition in breaking windows.
