Lots Of Familiar Faces Onscreen

King Donovan, Donald Woods, etc. Excellent monster, action, and the outstanding talent Eugene Lourie. A must see!

Was the first stopmotion monster flick of the 50s, so all associated can claim the original formula for this highly successful subgenre,IMHO. Great job in every facet. Also, better special effects than Them!

I've seen this about a zillion times and it's still great to watch. It was on earlier today and I caught it from the very beginning. Did you recognize Alvin Greenman who played Alfred in "Miracle on 34th street" (1947)? And James Best? If you don't know him, I can't begin to name what he's been in. I don't think I've ever noticed them before. And I watched the whole movie...again! 

Also a short cameo by John Hamilton as driver of the car that the Beast lefts off the street in its mouth. He played Perry White ("Great Caesar's Ghost"), editor of the Daily Planet in the 1950s Superman series on TV. I always liked this movie and am a fan of Harryhausen.

That's not John Hamilton. Don't know who it is, but definitely not him.

The radio voice describing the sighting by a Canadian which then segues into a commercial is the voice of Merv Griffin.
