How Many Times Has This Been Theatrically Released?

This was made in 1953 and I would have been only 5 years old. Surely I didn't see it then, but I could swear I remember seeing it as a kid. Was it released in the late 50's or early 60's?

Also, in the 70's I drove to Baltimore from York, Pa to see it again in a theater and was struck by the great multi-stereo soundtrack. I remember hearing the wax bubbling in the side and rear speakers.

Does anyone have any info on when and how many re-releases there have been for this classic?

Back in the day, several films were re-released theatrically. You and I are the same and I remember seeing, The Red Shoes, The Hunchback of Notre Dame and House of Wax in the theatre

I saw it in 3-D (my first experience with that film process) during the early '80s. I could be wrong, but its success sparked temporary interest in 3-D for a few years in theaters and television.

No blah, blah, blah!

As far as I know, there are three different kinds of 're-release":
-Special screenings
-A circulating special (probably remastered) print
-A full fledged multi-theater rerelease, as has been done with Snow White and Fantasia

Look for a special screening of this movie around Halloween.
