Remake

I can no longer find any reference to Peter Jackson's remake on IMDB. Does this mean it has (deservedly) not gone into production?
Thanks.

Why do you say deservedly not gone into production?

Because remakes are lazy, unimaginative and unoriginal (and usually bleep). The original "The Dam Busters" is an absolute classic and cannot be topped.

You could say that this film is unoriginal as it's based on a real event. I love this movie btw, just to make that perfectly clear.

There is a generation of kids/teens/whatever who probably won't watch this great movie because it's in black and white. That's where the remake could be a good thing and get those people interested in history

All very interesting but it doesn't address the original query....I saw Jackson interviewed about the Tintin movie recently and he was standing next to a couple of full-sized Lancasters and according to Wikipedia 10 have been built so obviously some money's been invested. There are various other references to the production on the net such as the info that Stephen Fry is writing it, but I can't find anything more recent than 2009 which is ominous for those who would like to see it made. Anybody have any other information?

More information?

Gladly: I am also waiting to see Jackson's remake.

Nobody's perfect!
