Just saw the musical...
And really did not like it. I assume the movie is better because it's a classic, but has anyone seen both and can attest to this?

I've always loved the movie, and thoroughly enjoyed the play. But I'm at the point in my life that I've decided that if I'm going to see a live play, I'm sitting between the 5th and 15th rows. If I can't afford the ticket, I'll stay home.
I've found the level of enjoyment of a live show is directly proportional to the closeness of the seats.
I have seen both and they are just too different to really compare. Each is enjoyable in its own way. I suspect anyone who sees the movie first is going to be disappointed in the play version.
