Can anyone recommend any write ups of the behind the scenes story of the movie? How stars got along, etc?
I haven't read the big Crosby bio ... that might be good.

If you purchase the DVD, you can opt in the main menu to have Rosemary Clooney's commentary turned on, " watching" it with you. She'll comment on every scene as you view it, sharing behind-the-scene memories and her feelings about her co-stars. It's very informative and fun for ardent fans of this movie!

We've all heard stories, but the "Sisters" scene is revealing in of itself. Supposedly, Kaye improvised the part where was swatting Crosby with the feather fan. Crosby's laugh is clearly genuine and if Crosby was a tool on the set, I can't see Kaye risking Crosby's ire by doing so.
In any case, the decision to use that cut in the film was pure genius.
