The Main Characters
I read where Charlton Heston felt that he was not a good choice for this role, that he was too dour, and I must say I agree. He is too serious for this light romantic comedy/drama.
And at 38, Jane Wyman seems an odd choice to play the jilted bridge who wants to have "lots of babies" with the 32 year old Heston. She feels too mature for the role and for him throughout the movie.
