Practically no undergarments!

Anna complains that the wives are wearing "practically no undergarments!" I know this movie isn't at all historically accurate, but does anyone know what kind of "undergarments" they would have been wearing? I imagine Anna's "practically no undergarments" is different than today's US audience's "practically no undergarments".

I don't think I've ever used the word "undergarments" so much...

Also, since we're talking about clothing, why does Louis only have one outfit??

Discussing movies with y'all while I still can. =/ Anyone know of a decent replacement?

In the 1860's undergarments would consist of a chemise, corset, under petticoat, hoop skirt, over petticoat. No wonder why these women had people help them dress!
