Dorothy Malone Steal's dee show...Ms EVIL SINISTER!!!!!

Who else agree's that Dorothy Malone (Marylee Hadley), is so evil sinister, aka as the classic FEMME FATEL, but this is not a film noire (or maybe it strangely is), but rather a MELLO-DRAMA.

Malone is so evil, that sinister is an understatment..... she is dee IT-girl re-defined,,,,, I don't think she ever topped this..... tuely I am not really sure.... since i have seen in her in only a few films.... again, she is dee IT-girl re-defined!!!!!!!!

No wonder she won dee 1956 OSCAR for Best Supporting Actress!!!! Kudo's all around..... Let's do lunch darling???

She does indeed steal the movie. She's so fantastically over-the-top, ripping up the screen in every scene she's in. She was also - oddly - sympathetic; pining away for Rock while seducing every man who came within 100 feet of her. And the way Sirk photographed her - in all shades of pink and that crazy plaid shirt juxtaposed against the autumn trees. Dorothy Malone was unforgetable in this movie! And she certainly deserved the Oscar for her performance!

We're desperate, get used to it. It's kiss or kill...

Yes, Dorothy is terrific in Written on the Wind. I always enjoy the scene where she's doing this very erotic dance while changing her clothes in her room.

Rock Hudson, Dorothy Malone, Robert Stack, and director Douglas Sirk reteamed a few years later to make a terrific film called The Tarnished Angels. She is outstanding in that film as well.

"Dry your eyes baby, it's out of character."

A better film IMO. I also liked Ms Mallone better in it.

She earned the Oscar just from the way she wore that black hat in the courtroom scene. Magnifico!

I don't know if I've ever seen Dorothy Malone in a noir movie yet. But the genre missed out for not using her, if that was the case. She's a terrific femme fatale in this.
