It wouldn't have made much sense in the story, I would just like to have seen the hot bare chests of of Rock and Bob thrashing about in the heat of passion!!

I disagree with you, but only because I think it actually might have MADE sense. I got the distinct impression in this movie that at least in Kyle's mind, his feelings for Mitch might have gone beyond just " friendship " although it's obvious he was trying to suppress them . This movie is already packed with so much sexual imagery and innuendo, they probably didn't have time to explore that angle. And they saved the best for last. That end scene with Marylee sitting in her father's office fondling the model "Oil Derrick" while she's watching Mitch and Lucy drive away was just TOO much! Hilarious!

Mitch and Kyle in some sort of "compromising mess!"
It was indicated in the IMDB Trivia section, I guess according to the
book, that Kyle was a homosexual, and tried to repress it.
The Hays Code at the time WAS NOT about to entertain that one on the
screen for "YOU's" who wanted to see them together......and I for one
am eternally grateful that they didn't!!!!!

I certainly wouldn't have minded that.
It's funny, though, I never sensed any homoerotic vibes between Kyle and Mitch, and I'm usually the first to pick up on something like that. I'll have to watch again and see!
