Interior set?

Midway through this movie Rock Hudson and Lauren Bacall dance in the foyer under the giant curved staircase. The floor of the foyer has a beautiful big black and white spiderweb design.

This looks very much like the set used in the Glenn Miller Story in a scene where Jimmy Stewart dances with June Allyson.

Is this in fact the same set?

And if so, is it a real house or merely a movie backlot set?

Not sure - I just thought the entire set decoration was exquisite!

But Doublas Sirk is very well known for this so I shouldn't have been too surprised.

This film is pure soap opera but the high quality performances from Hudson, Bacall, Stack and Molone just push it above a typical soap opera.

The sets and costumes though just make one want to jump into the screen and devour it! Totally gorgeous!
