An entire movie's plot seen from the windows of the Hadley house

I was chuckling over how many times something happened in the movie and we cut to someone observing the scene from one of the houses windows. And the insert shot of the actor in the window always look completley phony... thus, easier and less expensive to shoot:

Stack arrives home drunk for the climax (pick your favorite window, it's observed by everybody)
Butler retrieves funeral wreath (Bacall)
Mitch and Lucy drive off (Malone and Stack)

Well...with a house that big....would you expect everyone to run down all
those stairs to see who was coming or going!

I would think in a big house like that, if you hear something/someone outside;
the first thing you would do.....is run to look out of the window!!!

DUH!!!!!
