Mello-Drama central.....Sirk rules dis medium!!!!!

just saw Written on the Wind.... amazing Mello-Drama, from the king of dee mediun... this film is sooooo amazing that if you really put it in context, he ruled dee 50's, at a time when SOAP OPERA's were starting out....... this film cost universal $2mil and made $20mil... not bad, especially since Sirk averaged 2/3 films a year during the 50's......

Go Sirk Go!!!!!!!!

Saw this months ago and enjoyed it. Robert Stack was especially great. I may rent the DVD again this weekend. All That Heaven Allows is another excellent melodrama from Douglas Sirk.

I've just seen it. I liked it, but i was expecting more, something as good as All That Heaven Allows, which is an absolute masterpiece. But very good nevertheless.

If the eventual remake is bad, is just a bad film by itself, doesn't destroy the original one.
