Whatever happened to Chester and Tooey?

They appeared in the earlier seasons but they didn't appear in the later seasons

reply

I believe just like Larry they all three disappeared without any explanation of what happened to them.

reply

I have asked that same question on this board.

Nobody knows.

At least we know why Larry was fired.

But the disappearances of Chester and of Tooey are unsolved mysteries.

reply

Yep nobody knows it was like that they were forgotten about after they left but are you sure the actor that played Larry got fired?

reply

According to Wiki, Rusty Stevens was fired because his stage mother made such a pest of herself on the set that the network couldn't stand it any longer.
Which is too bad because Rusty was the most natural child actor on the show.

reply

Do you even realize that wikipedia is a public forum that anybody could go and ma,ke edits and post stuff the aren't true. But either case it is all news to me, Couldn't they have at least killed of his mother instead if what you claim to be true is true.

reply

The story is well-known online.
It's not only on Wikipedia.
Barbara Billingsly confirmed that Rusty Steven's stage mother was overbearing.

reply

I only watched the reruns periodically, I never knew he left the show.

Rusty was the most natural child actor on the show.

I'd say that Mathers from Seasons 1-2 takes the cake as the most natural and very best child actor of all-time.

But that is no longer the case in Seasons 4-6 when he goes through his tragic descent from great to mediocre to outright terrible. [At the moment I'm not sure exactly when the decline of Mathers' acting starts, but I do know the presence of his downward spiral is very obvious as of Season 4 if not sooner).

That's not to take anything away from Rusty. Rusty was amazing in every single appearance he had. Would his acting have gone downhill at all if he stayed? Maybe, maybe not. Would it have gone as far downhill as Mathers' acting did? Almost certainly not.

reply

Yes, I'm sure Larry got fired due to his mother. I don't care what the piece of crap wikipedia says either. But I know that Larry got fired due to his mother from listening to Billingsley, Osmond, Bank etc. say so. They are primary sources and I believe them, especially since there is no evidence to contradict what they said about that.

Couldn't they have at least killed of his mother instead if what you claim to be true is true.

The problem wasn't the actress who played Larry's mother. Rather, the problem was the Larry actor's real-life mother.

reply

Larry did not get fired. Rusty said the reason was he wasn’t a regular and therefore was in school and on the show. He didn’t get to be established at his school because he was gone a lot and didn’t have the same feeling on the show. So his mom took him out of the show- he wasn’t happy.
