Hugh Beaumont, Tony Dow not listed in every LITB ep.

I noticed here on IMDB that the two actors are listed in 234 episodes compared to Barbara Billingley and Jerry Mathers being in all 235.

Which ep. was Wally & Ward not in?

reply

I think that the listings include the pilot episode. There were different actors portraying Ward and Wally.
Also, Richard Deacon and Diane Brewster played different characters in this episode.

p.s. look for a young Harry Shearer playing a smart-alecky kid.

The OP has an incorrect premise. There is no such thing as "all 235". LITB only has 234 episodes.

And for those who try to rebut this point by saying "the pilot makes 235;" the pilot is not a LITB episode.

Then IMDB is in error, as it lists 235 eps.

But maybe this is like on MASH, where Alan Alda (Hawkeye) is credited in every single episode, but so is Loretta Swit (Hot Lips).

There was one ep. in which Alda was the only regular cast member to appear, "Hawkeye," which was more of an Alda one-man-show. No other cast member appears.

Additionally, Swit, while credited to nearly all episodes, she (and Larry Linville) were absent from a number of critically acclaimed eps., including the Adam's Ribs ep.
So IMDB is in error, though the actress was CREDITED in every ep., doesn't mean she appeared in every ep.

Yup, it sure is.

IMDB is also in error on The New Leave It To Beaver series. IMDB claims that it started in 1983, even though it did not. It makes that false claim, I assume, because some random & unprofessional person wrote in that false date after arbitrarily, randomly and unilaterally deciding to declare a made-for-tv movie from 1983 as part of that series, even though it isn't.

IMDB also has many errors in characters' names. I.e. For LITB, IMDB lists the Scott Bill Scott character(s) as either "Scott" or "Bill Scott," even though in one of his episodes he is not credited as either as those names, and he is alternatively credited solely as "Bill." Likewise, IMDB credits Jay North as "Dennis Mitchell" on the Dennis the Menace show and on The Donna Reed Show, even though he is officially credited by both of those shows only as "Dennis."

IMDB really should only let professionals edit its database. Since instead it lets any random yahoo edit its database, the database is full of all kinds of bogus info like in these examples.
