Why did she look directly into the camera? Why didn't she face the chick she was supposed to be scaring?

I don't think she was supposed to be scaring her. Frederick Loren later mentions that she is blind, so she probably didn't see Nora standing there.

Hope changes everything.

But why was she floating? She's apparently just supposed to be a regular blind lady, but this made no sense.

...and she was making a scary, threatening face. Funny, though. Bit of a guilty pleasure type movie.
