Maybe Lance was originally in on Annabelle's plot?

Watched this again last night. When Nora experiences the 'old lady jumpscare' in the basement, Lance comes into the room just a few seconds after the old lady has glided out. When Nora tells him what happened he says that he should have seen her (the old lady), but he saw nothing. If the old lady was the housekeeper and not a ghost, then Lance must have seen her. In which case the only reason I can think of for Lance to lie is if he was in on Annabelle's plot. I know that we see Annabelle meet Lance for apparently the first time, but maybe Lance's dialogue in the basement was something left over from an earlier draft? Just a thought.
