Interesting cast of young supporting actors

There are four actors in Gidget who were not well known at the time who went on to a greater degree of fame.

1. Yvonne Craig (age 21 when movie was released) She is best known as Batgirl in the "Batman" TV series that ran from 1967-'68.

2. Doug McClure (age 23) He is best known as Trampas in 249 episodes of "The Virginian", the Western that ran from 1962-'71. He was still acting when he died from lung cancer in 1995.

3. Burt Metcalfe (age 24) Not well known as an actor, he produced 96 episodes of "M*A*S*H" from 1972-'83.

4. Tom Laughlin (age 27) Found fame as the Billy Jack character in a series of movies that he starred in and directed, starting with The Born Losers in 1967.
