Does anyone know the name of the village that was built into the coast hillside? It also had what appeared to be a fortress of some sort on the hightest part of the hillside? It appeared to be ancient, and very beautiful. Unfortunately, there are no filming locations listed. Please help!

The movie was obviously shot on different locations, but the one you are looking for is the beautiful island of Procida in the Gulf of Naples, the little sister of Ischia and Capri. Procida has different picturesque harbours and at least two of them were used here – the one you can see in toto from the sea is the Marina de Corricella with the fortifications of St. Michael's Abbey to the right. Even today, Procida still keeps its original charme, it is well worth a trip by ferry from Naples. "Il Postino" was shot there, too.
