Did you think it was funny when... ((Spoiler))

Hello out there:

I was just wondering if anyone else thought it was funny when Tom stopped dead in the middle of trying to clean up after he kills Dickie, to grab an apple and take an extremely voracious bite into it?

I thought it was quite funny, and then my sister yelled out "snack attack," and I just totally lost it. I giggled for about 3 minutes. I don't think that it was supposed to be intentionally funny either, and for me that made it funnier still.

AND: Did you also find it amusing when Tom has to carry a dead, heavy-set Freddie down a couple of flights of stairs? Almost everyone in the theatre I was in laughed like hell. I'm sure that that one WAS intentional. Great movie.

Thoughts?

Yes, both were amusing. The apple thing is clearly part of the character's psychology; he devours a chicken leg in similar fashion after the second murder, and then there is the market scene where he shows such keen interest in the fresh fish.
