So Marienbad it's Good!

Seriously, I've never seen such a film as gorgeous and breathtaking. I couldn't figure out what was going on, but who cares it's beautiful just to look at. I've never seen a film so puzzling, it makes "Muholland Drive" and "Persona" almost seem simplistic. Sometimes you just got to sit back and enjoy a film for what it is. I have a region 2 DVD, but what the hell is taking Criterion so long?

I like the title of your post as well

It was beautifully shot. I think part of the problem for me is that I grew up after the film was made. Ive seen so many things that were influenced by this... commercials, movies, the SNL "Compulsion" ad... that it almost seems like its a parody of something else. I know thats my fault for not being able to leave all that at the door, but it is what it is. I enjoyed the cinematography for 15 minutes and then said I'd had enough.

I think we're just gonna have to be secretly in love with each other and leave it at that.

It is funny, I agree.

Funny post, but it's pronounced "Marien-bahd" in the film

Oh yeah, that's right... I forgot that we're all speaking French right now, and besides, it's really pronounced "hü givz a phuk yü pri-ten(t)-shis as-(h)ol."
