I'm so excited!!

I purchased tickets for myself for both the 7:00 p. m. showings of the 60th Anniversary screenings of the original 1961 film version of West Side Story, courtesy of fathomevents.com, on Sunday, November 28th, and on Wednesday, December 1st, at a Regal Cinema here in Boston, MA, and I'm very happy that I did so. Because things are so different than they've been, even in the not-so-distant past, I will be going by myself to both screenings, but that's okay--not the end of the world. Since I've missed going to the movie theatres, I've got yet another thing to look forward to. I'm crossing my fingers.

Congratulations! I enjoyed seeing it in the theater when I was very young. They used to re-release hit movies at that time.

I bought a VHS copy many years ago. I'll celebrate the 60th anniversary by watching it with a huge bowl of popcorn and singing the songs off-key.

That's also a great way to celebrate the 60th Anniversary screening of a great golden oldie-but-keeper of a classic movie-musical, but seeing it on a great big, wide screen, in a real movie theatre, is the most exciting for me. Thank you for your reply.

Unfortunately, VCR's are out of vogue--they don't make them any longer. I still have a VHS copy of the original 1961 film version of West Side Story. Years ago, when VCR's were in vogue, I used to occasionally rent a VCR from the long-since defunct Hollywood Express store across the highway from where I live, hook it into my old, small black-and-white TV, and watch the VHS copy of West Side Story. The days when I was able to do that are long gone. I now have a much bigger TV, but I could not put a VCR in back of it or wherever, even if I wanted to.

Moreover, my computer doesn't support DVD's either.

I'm still looking forward to seeing the re-release of the old, original 1961 film version of West Side Story, as a 60th Anniversary screening, in late November and early December! I'm excited.
