I am SO happy that I saw both evening screenings of the 1961 film West Side Story.

h=Hi, everybody! I"m happy that I saw both evening screenings of the original 1961 film version of West Side Story, both with fellow club members, and by myself. It's such a beautiful film, it was beautifully photographed, and the colors, especially the reds, blues and purples were used fantastically and created the most passionate atmosphere and background, and not only helped make the original 1961 film version of West Side Story the dynamic package that it is, but it added a great deal to the very story behind West Side Story,, and along with the cast, the intense Bernstein musical score, and beautifully choreographed dancing by Jerome Robbins, made it more dynamic and more three-dimensional.

When the original 1961 film version of West Side Story plays in a movie theatre within reasonable driving or public transportation distance from me, I take the opportunity to go and see it, because it plays so seldom and is so rare.

Here's hoping that the old, original 1961 film version of West Side Story is played again, despite the fact the Spielberg's adaptation of it will be coming out in a little more than a week. For a number of reasons that I've posted on here and elsewhere on the internet, I have no intention of going to see it.

I'm just a fan of many of the older movies, rather than lots of the newer ones.
