The scene on the houseboat (spoiler)
Anyone here think this confrontation scene with Peggy and Max was very scary?

shareIt's pretty tame by today's standards, but 1962 movie viewers it must have been pretty intense.
shareAgreed
shareIt was tense but rather tame by today's standards.
Its that man again!!
That's a great scene, it's very tension-filled. Although, I always felt the school scene was more intense, even though the daughter was never really in danger when she ran back to the empty building.
Hey there, Johnny Boy, I hope you fry!
Actually the scene between Bergen and Mitchum horrified me. They're both so good in their roles it's hard to shake off. Also it's implied that Mitchum raped Bergen. I don't THINK he did (he was after the kid) but considering how upset Bergen was when Peck found her it's HEAVILY implied.
