Sexual implications on houseboat

I don't know if I'm imagining it, but I thought the scene with Mitchum and Bergen on the houseboat was dripping with implied raw sexuality. When he cracks the egg and she's got goo dripping down her chest and he's rubbing it in...well, use your imagination. After that, when he was manhandling her in the hallway, the noises she's making sound like she's having a very hearty romp. Am I alone in seeing it this way? I found it very shocking for a film of that time, though I'm sure movie makers got their point across in many movies through many varied techniques.

the movie's full of sexual implications. that's what made mitchum so freakin dangerous.

i especially love the scene when he pushes a 20 to the waitress at the bowling alley, and asks "does this mean anything to you?" and then laughs like his dog did something funny.

"Derr..."

It WAS sexy. J. Lee Thompson isn't a great director, but he has some very good things to his credit. However, this film is all Mitchum all the way.

When Peck comes into the houseboat we hear moaning offscreen and wonder if the wife is being raped.
