semi ot: The Winds of War/War and Remembrance

anyone here see these two miniseries in which Robert Mitchum and Polly Bergin (Max Cady and Peggy Bowden) played Victor "Pug" Henry and Rhoda Henry?

I remember them well, and fondly. Mitchum was good in it. However I did think he was too old to play Pug. In 'Winds of War', in the book, Pug was in his late 40's. By the time 'War and Remembrance' was made Mitchum was about 70.

BTW, if you haven't read the novels I strongly recommend that you do. They're terrific.
