Black and white photography


anyone here think it adds to the meance of the film?

Yes, it was another example of a good idea to film in B/W,
even when most films were colour in '62.
The director mentioned in the DVD documentary that B/W would work best for the story. Probably not quite as suspenseful in colour.

It's not even a question. The scene where Cady stalks Nancy, and the very final moments in the lake scene are the reasons why it worked so well.
