Is it possible that Freddy's look was modeled after Cady?

I don't know, but it was the first thing that came to mind when looking at the movie cover/art. I would think so, and I hope for a knowledgable reply on this. Going to check out Nightmare on Elm Street trivia next. Glad someone else noticed this too.

Thanks for responding. Good idea on the Nightmare trivia. I just checked and found this:

Freddy's appearance (especially the dirty clothes and hat) was inspired by a hobo who Craven saw staring at him through his window one day when he was ten.
