In the scenes of the swamp area at night there are sounds of monkeys, as if in a rainforest.
As my father put it "Thats some crazy ass sounds for Cape Fear, North Carolina."

shareYeah, I noticed that too right off, that the animal sounds were kinda out of place considering the setting. Especially the laugh of the kookaburra (or laughing kingfisher, found only in Australia). This should be included in the blooper/goof section of the movie.
shareMaybe it was comic-relief, haha the movie was getting intense at that point then OOOHH-AH-AH monkey sounds. I started cracking up. Still a masterpiece of American cinema.
shareActually, the movie was filmed near Savannah, Georgia in an area where there is a colony of feral monkeys. The animals were released from an old roadside attraction zoo when the government tried to force the owner to close up shop.
