Michael Madsen alot like Robert Mitchum

First, Robert Mitchum should have been nominated for an Oscar for his part in Cape Fear. Robert DeNiro made as clown out of that part, although I love DeNiro but not as Max Cady. I believe I saw where Michael Madsen said he looked up to Lee Marvin and Robert Mitchum. Now, I can really see alot of mannerisms that Michael Madsen has, that he just has to have gotten from Mitchum. Whenever I see this film now, I see so much of Michael Madsen in Robert Mitchum, it is uncanny. Anyone else see any similarities? Both actors were nice looking as well as sexy but sinister in many of their roles. Night of the Hunter is another great Mitchum film.

Hi just the other day I read Robert Mitchum's bio on imdb and thought you'd be interested in this line. "Actor Michael Madsen called him his "role model" and inspiration to take up acting as a profession."
You hit the nail on the head.

You are probably right (he will not be on the same level) and it is a real shame because he has the talent. Just seems he does not get much work lately.
